Hi beautiful women!

Wow this year is flying through so fast! I hope everyone is enjoying the journey of 2011 so far!

We had our first sisterhood night in March; it was such a wonderful night with our beautiful women. We raised $1000 to bless the mums and families with babies in the NICU at John hunter hospital.

We also just had our second sisterhood night a couple of weeks ago. Part of the focus on the night was the "shine" program, which is a wonderful school based program that instils value and worth into teenage girls. We heard an amazing testimony from Christine king, and an inspiring word from Ps Kate & TA about taking a stand against “The Lies women believe” from enemy and not believing the lies that are spoken over our lives... It was such a powerful God breathed night!

Oh and there was yummy cake and great coffee to top the night off.

Make sure you put in your dairy our next get together which is Jewel on Sunday September 11th, so if you haven't made it along to one of our events yet, come along, we would love to have you there.

Well hello gorgeous girls,

It has been a while since we have blogged! We've had Christmas, Australia day and Vision Sunday....wow life is busy, but wonderful all at the same time. So I really hope life is treating you well and that you are more in love with Jesus every day!

I must say we are so excited about what this year (2011) holds for Globe Women.

We are launching our first ever SISTERHOOD NIGHT on Monday night 28th March. We will have 3 throughout the year. On these nights together we will be supporting something either locally or globally.

On our first night we are supporting the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) at the John Hunter Hospital by taking up an offering to maybe put together some packs etc. There is so much to share and we have a couple of amazing women that will speak on the night who have walked this long journey with their precious little babies.

Also on the night it will be framed with worship, fun, laughter and some yummy food! The cafe will be open on the night with a $5.00 cake & coffee/tea deal.

So gather your friends/life groups to enjoy a great night together.

Well girls we all know that the month of October is Breast cancer awareness month. Did you know that Everyday, more than 30 women find out they have breast cancer? Statistics tell us that each year in Australia more than 14,000 women will be diagnosed. Early detection and prevention is CRITICAL!

Here is a personal story of one of our amazing women in church.

KYLIE'S STORY

Well I'm writing this blog (Asked by TA) to talk about how 8 years ago my life was temporarily suspended for a little while. December 17 2002 was a surreal day - the day my Mum was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. We knew that this could be a possibility but just kept believing that the news would be negative.

Those that have been on this journey know, there are a million thoughts that go through your mind - followed by a million questions. Where is it? How big is it? Can it be taken out? Does the breast have to be taken off? Will radiotherapy or chemotherapy be needed? Will she die? They are not the questions you want to be asking about your mum. After all she is your Mum! - the one YOU go to, the one who's always there. You can't imagine her not being around.

So the days and weeks that followed were full of tests, doctors appointments and many sleepless nights. Plus loads of prayer. Breast Cancer affects the whole family, and as a family we rallied to let mum know she is not fighting this alone.

For us our prayers were answered. Mums cancer was contained and able to be taken out with only a lumpectomy and she was even able to keep her lymph nodes. So the best possible outcome was achieved. PRAISE GOD! I know that so many others are not as fortunate as us. We were able to celebrate a victory. But, the journey was still very scary and a time I would not like to repeat.

So as we highlight Breast Cancer this month I encourage you to send up some prayers for those that are on this scary journey right now - they need the comfort of those that love them. I also encourage you to appreciate who you have in your world. You just don't know what may be around the corner. Don't wait to tell them you love them. Or how they have blessed you. This life is fragile and not to be taken for granted.

REMEMBER TO ALWAYS....Love people loud & do what you can to make this world a better place & dance like no one is watching!

Wow there we see the hand of God in action. Prayer works. I'm sure their are many more of you that may have walked the same journey or are walking the journey right now - I pray that you chose to put your FAITH in God, a God who cares and carries our burdens and his amazing word. Our responsibility girls that aren't facing a situation like this is to pray, pray, pray.

On a lighter note don't forget Walk for Women is coming up on the 30th October. This Sunday is the cut off for getting in your Tshirt style and size. You can still register after this sunday but Tshirts will not be available.

Well it's been about a month since we had Jewel....For those who are wondering what Jewel is...It was a fundraiser High Tea to raise funds for the Home of Hope Ja Ella in Sri Lanka.

It was such a priviledge to be part of something that will impact the lives of those beautiful kids. I want to say a huge big Thank you to those that brought someone new along....not only was it a great way to to invite them to church BUT I believe you gave them the opportunity to open their eyes to something bigger than themselves, and that's what it's all about.

It was so invigorating to gather as friends on this journey, but the real win for us all was to actually produce something of eternal significance. Thank you for being involved in an afternoon that has been a blessing to the orphanage leaders and the children in their care. "SHE EXTENDED HER HAND TO THE POOR & NEEDY". Well done girls. It was really nice to be able to let Alison know that we raised $4100, which will almost cover the cost of the damages to the orphanage. (How amazing is our God)

So who got a bargin from the vintage op shoppe? It was such a lovely afternoon with yummy food, great company and for some of us that are mums to enjoy a HOT cup of tea. (or maybe two or three.) A big shout out to our sponsors and all you lovely ladies for supporting such a great event. Thank you.

SHE DID WHAT SHE COULD AND DIDN'T WAIT TO BE INVITED.

We all know the story of Mary (sister to Martha and Lazarus) who in Mark 14:3-9 poured out oil on Jesus. Verse 8 says "she did what she could."

What if we all did what we could? What are we waiting for?

John Maxwell said "Too many people stand on the dock waiting. They want the ship in place, the gangplank perfectly positioned, the weather right and an engraved invitation."

Maybe we think we have nothing to offer or what we have is no big deal, but when we put in in Jesus' hands it becomes enough. Our limitations can bring glory to God as they provide platforms for Him to do something that has no other explanation but God.

Not only does God call us; He also equips us, sustains us and empowers us. Anything less is a Christless Christianity. Perhaps we need to grab hold of the reality that what God has equipped us to do, He has already invited us to do.

Lisa Bevere said "Any gift, ability or talent we have is given to us to improve and enhance the lives of others. There is something within you that this world desperately needs."

What one thing can we do now that no-one has invited us to do? Have coffee with another mum? Make someone a cake? Send a card? Babysit?

Imagine what could happen if we all did what we could, right NOW!

Have a great Easter, let's not forget what Jesus did for us. Easter is a great opportunity to invite family and friends who don't usually attend church to share this special time of the year.
(This is the only time we can over-indulge in chocolate without feeling guilty - ENJOY!)

Wow, Wow, Wow

Well those of you that went to Colour conference last week how amazing was it! I am so thankful that we have something that people travel far and wide to come to and its really only in our back yard.....and what an honour it is to have been a part of it! For those that didn't get there this time, I pray that you can make it next year, because you will be nothing but blessed just by being there. I truly believe that colour conference was always in the BIG picture plan that God had for the times that we live in now!

He is raising up a SISTERHOOD of women all over the globe, opening their EYES to the things yet unseen, showing us how to LOVE like he loves so in turn our HEART will break for what breaks his ( I know this is a song BUT if we could grasp hold of this then IMAGINE how God could use us)

I love that God knows where we are individually, and what season of life we are in, BUT know that God has graced you for such a time as this. What a beautiful thought that ONE smile or act of kindness that you give someone today could be a turning point in their world.

We are the SISTERHOOD that perhaps HEAVEN IMAGINED when a very intentional creator created his Girls.....Strong and Beautiful, Feminine and Gracious, Authoritive and Gentle....(Bobbie Houston)

Girls that is YOU! I just love how our amazing God sees us, even if at times we don't.

Our First Blog From Pastor Kate

How exciting to be able to communicate in this new way with our Globe girls.
Thanks to Toni-Anne for organising us all. Our lives are full of opportunities to connect and enrich one another .... I wonder if we will end up on Twitter?

A lot of the sense of community that we enjoy comes out of our communication ... and don't we love to do it! I love that we can text one another "bits and pieces" but this can let us down sometimes. In all our connecting, I am reminded of the incredible power of the good old fashioned conversation ... especially eye to eye! Or at least voice to voice .. if in doubt .. have a chat.

How has your Wednesday, this 10th day of February been? Yesterday I celebrated my anniversary. I dedicated my life to Jesus Christ this morning 29 years ago. How grateful I am that God came looking for me! Grateful also that someone looked out of their church window and noticed me "looking in".

Do you have someone in your world today that God wants you to notice? If could be someone who wants to look inside your lovely church/God world. Or it could be a girlfriend who needs a bit of encouragement and a prayer, perhaps it is someone in your very own home. Let's be girls who notice others and take action to respond.

Thankyou for being such a free and friendly bunch. This year Toni-anne and I are looking for ways to help us all to keep an eye out for one another ... especially across the different age groups. How lovely to hear of the Kennaughs adopting lovely Emma Stevo for a while when she was so sick. Our young adults actually need some families to befriend them and cheer them on ... how enriched we are when we reach out to the next generation.

Make sure you join a life group this week. Help to build it - one person at a time.
